Way back in May 2007 there was a public meeting at the village hall. A proposal was presented to allow the Manangement Committee to sell the present hall and build a new one with the proceeds. This proposal was passed, but nothing much seems to have happened since ! Unfortunately, by the time we were in a position to go ahead and sell the old hall, the housing market had plumetted, leaving us with a very much reduced amount of potential funds. For this reason the proposed sale was put on a back-burner. The good news is, however, that with the help of Rob Grunsell, the Community First village hall advisor, we found we were eligible to apply for Big Lottery Funding. We have gone through Stage 1, and have submitted Stage 2...and wait to hear. The housing market has picked up a bit.....so watch this space.
In the meantime, there are lots of good things going on at the village hall. There is weekly Dog Training - now on a Wednesday Evening. Ron's Dance Class is starting up again, and the monthly Coffee Morning is going from strength to strength - a good excuse for a gossip and catch up. And of cpourse the hall is available for hire for social events, contact Jan Powell on 411598
On Friday, October 21st there is a Quiz and Supper.....sausage, mash & beans followed by fruit crumble and custard. There is a veggie option, and please bring your own drink.
This is always a great evening. Tickets £8 - contact same as before
