Stanford Christmas Tree Festival 2021

Stanford Christmas Tree Festival 2021

This year we are having a 'real' festival on Saturday 4th December from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday 5th December from 11am to 4pm - there was a Communion Service at 10am on Sunday. Father Tm (Rural Dean of Stourport and Kidderminster Deanery) give the sermon at this special service. After the service Father Tim  judged the trees.

We had about 20 trees - these were supplied by Angel Gardens. Different groups competed: Local Schools and Nurseries, Businesses, Families and Churches in Teme Valley South. All procedes are going to Maggs Shelter in Worcester http://www.maggsdaycentre.co.uk/ .

We ran a peoples' vote - this was a 4 way tie between: Abberley School; Great Witley School; TVS Blessings Group and The White Pheasant - well do to them and everyone who judged.

Father Tim judged the trees on Sunday morning - the most terrifying experience of his Rural Deanship!

He decide that in the Children's section Abberley Primary School won - his reasoning was that he had just preached a sermon on Christmas Trees and this tree had a star on top and presents underneath - the classic tree in his sermon. The other Children's trees were highly commended.

Father Tim was asked to award a cup to all the other trees - while he was very impressed by the variety and excellence of the trees on display - in the end he decided that this should go to Kyre and Stoke Bliss Churches for the tree below.
