Monument Restoration.

The work on the monuments is now completed. More information on the history page

Stourport Deanery Re-organisation

As part of the Deanery re-organisation, on 1st November 2012,  the Parish of Stanford with Orleton transferred from the Benefice of Teme Valley North to this Benefice (Teme Valley South).
Approximately 60 people came to our Transition Service on 30th November. Thanks to Archdeacon Fred Trethewey for an inspiring sermon and Rev'd Louise Grace, Rev'd Robert Barlow and Rev'd Sally Jones for an inspiring and rousing service. Also thanks to Teme Valley North's choir and Jason Fisher for the magnificent music. This was followed by a Faith Supper in the Village Hall - there were a wide range of delectable items to eat and some liquid refreshment. Thanks to all who provided this. A very good time was had by all!

Monument Renovation

The work on the two monuments has been completed by Sally Strachey Conservators with funds from a number of donors including The Heritage Lottery Fund. They have done a magnificent job on restoration.  Below is a picture of the 15th Century Chest Tomb of the Salways before renovation. We will supply the 'after' picture in due course. If you wish to see the monuments, we are able to open the church by appointment (use Robin's contact details above) or attend one of our monthly services on the second Sunday in the month at 10am.

Jubilee Beacon

On 6th June, the Church organised a beacon to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Below a picture of the beacon and the Church behind (this photograph was published elsewhere on the internet and it was unkindly suggesting that we might be trying to burn down the church!). Thank you to Andrew Mawby for the photograph.
